Richard Gibble, Director, Hughey Center for Financial Services

Director, Hughey Center for Financial Services, Bentley University

Richard Gibble is the director of the Hughey Center for Financial Services. Richard most recently worked as the senior investment analyst at a hedge fund of funds firm in Greenwich, Connecticut. He has also held investment positions at a mutual fund company and a private investment management company.

In the Hughey Center, Richard is responsible for integrating the Trading Room into Bentley University’s finance curriculum at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He also teaches in the Finance Department and develops and delivers content for the nationally renowned, Wall Street 101 program.

Richard earned his MBA and MSF at the McCallum Graduate School, and his BA from Saint Anselm College.

Lauren Webb, Student Manager

Lauren joined the Trading Room staff in May 2010 as a freshman. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in finance with a minor in economics. Lauren is an active member in the energy sector of the Bentley Investment Group. Her other accomplishments include the President’s List and a Presidential Scholarship.

Lauren’s responsibilities in the Trading Room include teaching mini-classes on financial software applications, assisting students and faculty with financial research, and modifying teaching materials.

Justin Lawlor, Student Manager

Justin joined the Trading Room staff in April of 2009 as a freshman. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in economics and finance and a liberal studies degree in global perspectives. On campus, Justin serves as the Vice President of Research for the Bentley Investment Group and is a frequent contributor to the business column of Bentley’s newspaper, The Vanguard. Justin has been an active participant in the Bentley Real Estate Group, Ski Club, Residence Hall Association, and Service-Learning program. He is a Presidential Scholarship recipient and has received President's List recognition for each of his semesters at Bentley.

In the summer of 2010, Justin interned at John Hancock Financial Services within the company’s Mutual Funds division. He also spent a month at the London School of Economics & Political Science, where he attended a course on Advanced Financial Markets.

Justin’s responsibilities in the Trading Room include teaching workshops on the HCFS financial software applications, assisting students and faculty with financial research, and modifying mini-class material.

Bijal Saurastri, Department Assistant

Bijal joined the Trading Room Staff in January 2012 as a graduate student. She is currently pursuing her MBA in Finance at the McCallum Graduate School.  Bijal is an international student and prior to beginning her MBA, sho worked at Morgan Stanley in the Investment Banking division and did extensive work in the Corporate Finance division.

Bijal’s responsibilities in the Trading Room include teaching workshops on the HCFS financial software applications, assisting students and faculty with financial research, and modifying mini-class material.

Joshua joined the Trading Room Staff in May 2011 as a graduate student. He is currently enrolled as an MBA student at the McCallum Graduate School with a concentration in Finance & is also pursuing a Master’s of Science in Accountancy.  He is a Charter Pending Candidate in the CFA Program & passed all three exam levels offered.  Outside of school Joshua has focused his personal interests on studying value investing and has been investing on his since high school.

Upon graduation from Bentley’s undergraduate program in 2003, Joshua worked as a sales tax consultant with Dryden Advisory Group LLC’s New England tax practice in Newton, MA.  From there, Joshua went on to work as a Mutual Fund Accountant with PNC Global Investment Servicing in Westborough, MA from 2004 to 2005. He was responsible for accounting and administration for one of the largest and most complex multisector bond mutual funds in the industry and developed processes to streamline and replace manual intervention with automated processes. From 2006 to 2009 he worked as a Performance Measurement Analyst supporting the performance measurement, analytics, attribution and evaluation needs of Bank of America’s high-net-worth & institutional asset management business lines in Boston.  Joshua formerly was a FINRA registered representative (Series 6 & 63)

Shohana Jannat, Trading Room Assistant

Shohana joined the Trading Room staff in May of 2009 as a freshman. A member of the Honors Program, she is pursuing a bachelor's degree in economics and finance. Her academic achievements include Bentley’s President's List and the Presidential Scholarship for Academic Achievement. An active member of various organizations in the Bentley community, Shohana currently serves on the executive boards of the Bentley Investment Group, Bentley Academic Integrity Board, and Bentley Asian Student Association. Shohana is also a member of Bentley’s 2010 College Federal Challenge Team.

In the summer of 2009, Shohana interned with Liberty Mutual Insurance Group as an operations and investments intern and was a participant in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Leadership Adventure Program and KPMG's Future Diversity Leaders Program.

During the summer of 2010, Shohana conducted market research, modeling, and analysis on current and emerging issues in finance and wrote a research paper for publication in collaboration with the Finance department.  Shohana also participated in Deutsche Bank’s Investment Banking Sophomore Leadership Program.

Ryan Vanzo, Trading Room Assistant

Ryan joined the Trading Room Staff in February 2012 as a junior. He is pursuing a BS in Finance with a minor in Sociology.  Ryan is the team leader of the Technology sector for the Bentley Investment Group.  He also participated in the 2012 CFA Investment Research Challenge.  His academic achievements include being on the President's List and Dean's List for each of his semesters at Bentley.

During the summer of 2011, Ryan interned at GE Energy as a Financial Management Program intern.  He also interned at Merrill Lynch & Co. and Portfolio LLC.  Ryan will also be working in an investment management role at Forward Management during the spring of 2012.

Ryan’s responsibilities in the trading room include teaching workshops on Trading Room financial software applications, and helping students and faculty with financial projects and research.

Hanna joined the Trading Room staff at the end of her freshman year in May 2010. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance with a minor in accountancy and French.

At Bentley, she is an analyst on the Macro sector of the Bentley Investment Group and the Secretary of the Bentley ONE Campaign.  Her other accomplishments include making the Dean’s and President’s Lists. In high school, Hanna participated in Wall Street 101 in the summer of 2007.

Dan joined the Trading Room staff in September 2009 at the beginning of his freshman year. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Finance and Accounting.

On campus, Dan serves as the Team Leader for the Consumer Sector in the Bentley Investment Group. His other accomplishments include the Dean's and President's Lists. He participated in Bentley’s Wall Street 101 program in summer of 2007. In the summer of 2011, Dan interned at SCS Financial, an investment advisor and financial services firm in Boston. There, Dan worked on analyzing and researching various equity funds’ and managers’ portfolios and strategies and their potential fit in the SCS Fund of Funds Portfolio.

Dan's responsibilities in the Trading Room include teaching mini-classes on the financial software applications, assisting students with research, and developing and modifying teaching materials.

Nicholas Fahmie, Trading Room Assistant

Nick joined the Trading Room staff in September 2011 as a senior.  He is currently pursuing Bachelor of Science degrees in economics-finance and liberal studies with a minor in Psychology.  His academic achievements include recognition on the Dean's List and President's List, as well as induction into the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society, Omicron Delta Epsilon economic honor society, and the Bentley Honor Society.  Nick's involvement on campus includes being the assistant team leader of the macro sector in the Bentley Investment Group.

During the summer of 2011, Nick worked as a summer analyst at Barclays Capital in the Sales & Trading division. Nick will be returning to Barclays Capital full time in the summer of 2012 on the Equity Derivatives Trading desk.

Nick’s responsibilities in the Trading Room include delivering mini-classes, assisting faculty and students with research and projects, and updating course materials and tutorials.

Gaurav Ghosh, Trading Room Assistant

Gaurav joined the Trading Room in September 2011 as a sophomore. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor Of Science degree in Finance with a minor in economics and accounting. Gaurav’s involvement on campus includes being the Assistant Team Leader of the Materials/Industrials Sector of the Bentley Investment Group. He is also a Resident Assistant with The Bentley University Residential Center.  His academic achievements include being on the President’s List for each of his semesters at Bentley.

During the summer of 2011, Gaurav interned at KPMG Middle East within the company’s Corporate Finance division. He has also interned at ING Group and 130R Capital Investment Bank.

Matthew Picarello, Trading Room Assistant

Matt joined the Trading Room staff in September of 2011 as a senior. He is currently pursuing bachelor’s degrees in finance and liberal studies. His academic achievements include Bentley President’s List and Presidential Scholarship awards. On campus, Matt is the Energy Sector Team Leader for the Bentley Investment Group and has served on the Executive Board of the Bentley Microfinance Group.

In the summer of 2009, Matt interned at the wealth management firm BGS Capital Management. Throughout his sophomore and junior years, he interned at the investment bank Provident Healthcare Partners where he focused on M&A advisory. In the summer of 2010, Matt interned at the hedge fund AQR Capital Management. This past summer, Matt interned at J.P. Morgan in their Natural Resources investment banking group.

Matt's responsibilities in the Trading Room include assisting students and faculty with projects and research, as well as delivering mini-classes, and updating course materials and tutorials.
